Opening analysis on the film 'North by Northwest'

North by Northwest:-

Sound- Starts off with fast paced music that builds up tension. After the credits, there is no music, just the sounds of people and cars. When the character walks into the bar, calming, diegetic music plays. This music contrasts greatly with the first music as it goes from fast paced, heart racing music to nothing but diegetic sound of people talking. This could be good for changing the mood of the scene.

Editing- Credits fly in and are angled to look like they are on the side of a building. There is a reflection of cars on this building while the credits fly in. The next part quickly cuts between scenes as credits come up in the background.
