Opening analysis on the film 'The Birds'

The Birds:-

Sound- Starts off with the diegetic sound of many birds flying, tweeting and generally making a lot of noise - this suggests what the film is about from the start. There is no music either, just the sound of birds. Birds are a strong theme from the start, with birds in a pet shop making diegetic noise. There is no music at all in the first 5 minutes, just all diegetic noise from birds, cars and people.

Editing- Credits start with birds flying in the background, with the names of people involved with the film coming up as birds fly across the film.
